Atlanta’s outrageously savory and sometimes salacious event, BaconFest, is set to return in 2018 to its home in the Old Fourth Ward. The 17th annual event takes place Saturday, March 31, from 1:00pm to 6:00pm. Bacon-lovers are urged to keep that date open and their attention locked on Dad’s, as the innovative, comedic crew will be revealing juicy details in the coming weeks about the 2018 meaty extravaganza.
Founded in 1999, the kitschy festival has become a fixture in the Atlanta community by combining troughs upon troughs of cold beer; hilarious carnival games manned by the best improvisers in the city; and unforgettable entertainment like a hobo wine tasting, naughty face painting, drunken spelling bee, a scavenger hunt, and more. Selling out every year, all proceeds benefit Dad’s Garage Theatre Company, a nonprofit theatre group that engages, cultivates and inspires artists and audiences alike by producing innovative, scripted and improvised works that are recognized locally, nationally and internationally for being undeniably awesome.
Event tickets are $45 each for bottomless bacon. Prices go up to $50 after March 16, and are $55 at the door (as if there will be any left!). (courtesy of Dad’s Garage)
