Pierogies with Sage at Brick Store Pub

A recent Urban Explorers expedition through Decatur ended at Brick Store Pub, and thankfully so…we were parched! I tried a Duvel merely because I liked its glassware.

After we cooled off in the Belgian Room upstairs, we snagged a table downstairs for a quick snack. RK and I shared these outstanding pierogies, a Polish specialty much like large raviolis filled with potato puree. Here, they fry the little boogers and serve them with a subtly sweet brown butter sauce and caramelized onions, with spiced pecans and crispy sage leaves.
