The Bishop Set to Open May 13th
The much-anticipated neighborhood restaurant and bar announces official debut
A welcome addition to the Avondale Estates community, The Bishop will open its doors on Tuesday, May 13. The first venture of owner-operator and longtime Avondale Estates resident Luellen Marshall, The Bishop will showcase a collection of family recipes inspired by American classics and comfort food.
The menu will feature dishes prepared with all-natural, locally sourced products. A generous mix of small plates, salads, sandwiches and entrees, menu highlights include North Carolina clams with Andouille sausage and a SweetWater beer reduction served with griddled bread, the Pine Street BLT with thick-cut applewood smoked bacon, lettuce and a fried green tomato and a hangar steak with salsa verde marinade, fennel puree and radish salad.
Its inviting atmosphere, complete with a full bar along one side and leather banquette seating throughout, will serve as an extension of Marshall’s community focus, while the exposed brick and antiqued mirrors maintain the historic integrity of the building.
