Giovanni Di Palma has opened his latest offering, Bottega Luisa, just steps away from his popular Antico Napoletana Pizza, Gio’s Chicken Amalfitano, and gelateria Caffe’ Gio, all part of the Piazza San Gennaro complex in Midtown.

Lines are already forming to shop a well edited mix of artisan Italian goods like wood-roasted peppers, pastas, cheeses, olive oils, chocolates and more. Home cooks can sip an espresso while perusing the shelves filled with imported salumi, jars of pesto sauce, and San Marzano tomatoes.

Di Palma plans to expand his empire further with the eminent opening of Bar Amalfi where guests can relax in one of the blue and white striped cabanas and enjoy Italian-style cocktails. Limoncello anyone?
