Lunch at Hula Grill…Farewell to Maui

At last, I say farewell to Hawaii with my final post…

LC’s great uncle AB recommended many of the places we visited while in Hawaii, the last of which was the Hula Grill. Our new friend S agreed, it was one of the best restaurants in the Ka’anapali Beach area, and not surprisingly, part of the same restaurant group as Duke’s and Kimo’s.

Located in the popular shopping center called Whalers Village, Hula Grill serves lunch in their Barefoot Bar with spectacular views of the ocean. After a deliciously decadent eggs benedict at Duke’s that morning, I was craving something on the lighter side, so I chose the Chinese chopped chicken salad. LC ordered the fish tacos, substituting fries for chips and salsa.

My salad was fresh and satisfying, full of crunchy julienned carrots, sprouts, and cabbage, topped with peanuts, crispy wonton strips, and sesame dressing. LC enjoyed his selection too, as we sat in the afternoon sun watching the sailboats glide along the gentle waves of the Pacific.

The sky was blue and so were we as we headed north to the airport. Until next time Hawaii…Aloha!
