Combination Restaurant and Lounge Newest Bright Spot in Dynamic Downtown Dining Scene
With a plethora of major new projects, including The National Center for Civil and Human Rights, The College Football Hall of Fame, and the Atlanta Streetcar Project, soon to be completed, it is safe to say that Downtown Atlanta is on the cusp of a renaissance. It comes as no surprise then that restaurateurs are upping their game and bringing some of the best new restaurants in town to the Downtown culinary landscape. One of the best and brightest new concepts, Suite Food Lounge, is set to open on Tuesday, October 8.
“With all of the changes coming to Downtown, we saw a need for a different kind of establishment here,” said Terry Clark, who co-owns Suite Food Lounge and Skyboxx Lounge in Morrow with his brother Tory Thomas. “What we offer is a place where families can come and enjoy a great, affordable meal for lunch or dinner which transforms at night into a sophisticated bar and lounge hosting some of the best local musical talent. The key to breaking into Downtown is diversity, and Suite Food Lounge has that in spades.”
Located on Luckie Street at the corner of Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard, in the space formerly occupied by Luckie Food Lounge, Suite is a full service restaurant and lounge serving contemporary American cuisine with traditional Southern influences. The menu, created by star chef Michael Stevenson, features small sharable plates, wood-fired pizzas, and signature entrees for lunch and dinner. There will be gourmet coffee drinks, fresh juices and homemade pastries from pastry chef Tonisha Jackson and a limited lounge menu for late night dining. The beverage program, designed by FOH manager Michael Bernardo, highlights boutique wines and craft cocktails.
Suite Food Lounge is divided into three levels: the ground floor features the main dining room, a VIP lounge and dance floor, and two full bars; downstairs there is a private dining space called The Royal Suite; upstairs is The Penthouse, a larger private and VIP area with a separate bar and a sky deck showcasing one of Downtown’s most breathtaking views.
